One of the founder members of the charity, Sally Thompson, is going to climb Kilimanjaro in June.   The highest mountain in Africa, Kili is also the tallest free standing mountain on earth.

The 8 day trip is being organised by Tribes Travel and leaves the UK on Saturday 23rd June.

What Sally has to say:

T he enormity of what I have just signed up to has not yet hit me and maybe it won't until I am struggling to acclimatise to Kili's dizzy heights.  It's the highest mountain in Africa and the tallest free standing mountain on earth (5895m above sea level)!

It is going to take me 5 days/nights to summit and I will be doing the Macheme route which apparently is the most scenic but steeper!  The success rate is good though.  (Did you know that smokers have a better chance of reaching the summit because their bodies are used to less oxygen.  I've never smoked though ... !)

Sally aims to raise an amazing £2500 from her climb!
